Privacy Policy and Data Protection Notice

This Privacy Policy and Personal Data Protection Notice ("Notice") explains how your personal data is processed when you visit or use Techsy Community, in accordance with the Turkish Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK") and related legislation. The Turkish-language version of this Notice is the authoritative text; translations are provided for convenience.

1. Data controller

Your personal data is processed by the following data controller ("Techsy", "we", "us"):

2. Scope

This Notice applies to everyone who accesses the service, whether a signed-in member or a visitor browsing the public pages. It should be read together with our Cookie Policy and Terms of Service.

3. Personal data we process

We aim to collect only what we need to run the service. Depending on how you use Techsy Community, we may process the following categories of personal data:

Identity and contact data: your name (if provided) and email address.
Account and transaction-security data: hashed authentication credentials and metadata, IP address, device and browser information, session and login timestamps, and multi-factor authentication status.
Usage data: pages and content you view, items you save or bookmark, your progress, and preferences such as your chosen interface language.
Communication data: the content of messages you send us through the contact form or support channels.
Payment data (when paid plans launch): billing is handled by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your full card details.

4. Purposes of processing

We process your personal data to:

create and maintain your account and give you access to gated content;
operate, secure, maintain, and improve the service;
respond to your requests and provide support;
comply with our legal obligations, including tax and electronic-commerce record-keeping; and
where you have consented, send you updates about the service.

5. Legal bases

We process personal data on the legal bases set out in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK:

Performance of a contract: processing necessary to provide the membership you signed up for.
Compliance with a legal obligation: where the law requires us to process or retain data.
Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and improving it, in a way that does not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Explicit consent: for non-essential cookies and for commercial electronic messages; you may withdraw consent at any time.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

7. Sharing and data processors

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf under appropriate agreements and safeguards, limited to what each provider needs to perform its function. These include:

hosting and infrastructure providers;
our database and authentication provider;
email delivery providers;
analytics providers; and
a payment provider (once paid plans launch).

We may also disclose personal data where required by law or by a competent public authority.

8. International transfers

Some of our service providers may be located outside Türkiye. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we do so in accordance with Article 9 of the KVKK, relying on an appropriate legal ground such as a standard contract, an adequacy decision, or your explicit consent, together with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards.

9. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the service or to meet our legal obligations, after which it is deleted, destroyed, or anonymised in line with our retention and destruction policy. Some records may persist in secure backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.

10. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on member data.

11. Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, you have the right to:

learn whether your personal data is processed;
request information about the processing;
learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly;
know the third parties to whom your data is transferred, in Türkiye or abroad;
request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data;
request deletion or destruction of your data;
request that the above corrections and deletions be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred;
object to results produced solely by automated analysis; and
claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.

To exercise these rights, send a written request to the address above or an email to [email protected], in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles for Application to the Data Controller. We will respond within thirty days at the latest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board (KVKK Kurulu).

12. Children

Techsy Community is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly process the personal data of children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.

13. Changes to this Notice

We may update this Notice from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the service.
